January 16, 2023 ─ Cleveland Clinic Martin Health is pleased to welcome three new physicians: Roger Nathaniel Coron, MD, gastroenterologist; Emanuela Silva Alvarenga, MD, colorectal surgeon; Hala Al-Jiboury, MD, gastroenterologist.

Roger Nathaniel Coron, MD

Roger Nathaniel Coron, MD, earned his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School and completed the internal medicine residency program at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania. He went on to complete the gastroenterology fellowship program at New York Medical College and is board-certified in gastroenterology by the American College of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Coron’s clinical interests include colon cancer, Crohn’s Disease, GERD, IBS and ulcerative colitis.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, Dr. Coron was Chief, Division of Gastroenterology, at Montefiore New Rochelle in New York. He holds professional memberships in the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.

 

 

Emanuela Silva Alvarenga, MD

Emanuela Silva Alvarenga, MD, earned her medical degree at the Faculdade de Medicina de Jundiai, in Sao Paolo, Brazil, where she also completed her general surgery and coloproctology residencies. In the U.S., she retrained and completed the general surgery residency at Florida State University, the ACGME accredited colorectal surgery residency and colorectal surgery research fellowship programs at Cleveland Clinic Florida. She is board certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American Board of Colorectal Surgery.

Dr. Alvarenga’s clinical interests include anal cancer, anorectal physiology and disorders and colon cancer.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, Dr. Alvarenga was a colorectal surgeon clinical associate at Cleveland Clinic Florida and a faculty member with Ross University School of Medicine in Miramar and Florida State University College of Medicine. She holds professional memberships in the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon, and Rectal Surgery, and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

 

Hala Al-Jiboury, MD

Hala Al-Jiboury, MD, earned her medical degree at The University of Toledo College of Medicine in Ohio and completed the internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in California. She is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology and fellowship-trained in gastroenterology at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

Dr. Al-Jiboury’s clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, colorectal cancer prevention and screening, cirrhosis, microscopic colitis, celiac disease and GERD.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Martin Health, Dr. Al-Jiboury was a partner physician in gastroenterology at Southern California Kaiser Permanente San Bernardino County.
