Construction teams at the site of the new Homestead Hospital recently celebrated the last 800-pound steel beam installed in the $135 million, 388,000 square foot facility. The beam, covered with signatures of Homestead Hospital employees, physicians, Board members and volunteers, was hoisted to the top of the building with an American flag and a tree symbolizing good luck during a topping off ceremony. The new hospital is scheduled to open in late 2006.
