Coral Gables Hospital congratulates Sergio Alvarez, R.N., for being this year’s third quarter DAISY Award winner. Alvarez is a quality management coordinator in the hospital’s telemetry unit. His co-workers have seen him as a role model since he joined the unit and highly respect him because of his willingness to go the extra mile to meet patient needs with a positive attitude.
Alvarez was presented the "Extraordinary Nurse" award by the hospital’s administrative team. The certificate reads: "In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people." He was also presented a sculpture called “A Healer’s Touch”, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
