In an ongoing effort to be environmentally friendly, Coral Gables Hospital hosts a series of hospital-wide events and community activities.The hospital’s “Green Team,” which was formed to find ways to curb environmental degradation, transformed the auditorium into a “homemade organic farm” and provided guests with planting kits to encourage the “go green” movement. They also enforced a Styrofoam-free day in the hospital’s cafeteria.
Additionally, the Green Team attended the hospital’s free monthly screenings to provided guests with educational materials on how to be environmentally conscious. Hospital directors showed their support of the initiative by dedicating their time to cleaning a community park.
