 November 2, 2022 Interventional Cardiologist Dagmar Fredy Hernandez Suarez, M.D., joins the cardiology team of Baptist Health. Dr. Suarez specializes in interventional cardiology, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. He is fluent in English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Baptist Health in 2022, Dr. Suarez completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of Puerto Rico. He was the valedictorian of his medical school class and the first Cuban physician to graduate from the prestigious Columbia University interventional cardiology fellowship program.

In addition to his strong patient care skills, Dr. Suarez is an avid researcher of the pharmacogenetics of antiplatelet drugs, the role of cardiac imaging for the general cardiologist, and machine learning and artificial intelligence applications in structural valve disease. He’s published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Dr. Suarez is part of Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute Cardiology Group. The team is composed of the most accomplished and respected professionals in their field.
