October 26, 2022 Delray Medical Center today announced that it has been recognized for the 14th year in a row (2010-2023) as a Stroke Care Excellence Award™ recipient by Healthgrades, a leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Awards recognize the top 10% of hospitals across the country in 17 specialty care areas. This achievement reflects Delray Medical Center’s outstanding clinical outcomes for Stroke Care and distinguishes Delray Medical Center as one of the nation’s leading hospitals for Stroke Care.

“With our high standards and commitment to quality care at Delray Medical Center, we are so proud to achieve this distinguished award,” said Delray Medical Center CEO, Daniel Listi. “This recognition is a testament to our patients that we are providing them with the highest level of safety and care every day when they come into our hospital.”

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between hospitals with a 2023 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award and hospitals that did not receive the award. From 2019-2021, patients treated at hospitals receiving the Stroke Care Excellence Award™ have, on average, a 40.2% lower risk of dying than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*

“We commend Delray Medical Center for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients being treated for Stroke,” said Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident that recipients of the 2023 Stroke Care Excellence Award have demonstrated their ability to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.”
