Delray Medical Center is the first hospital in Florida to perform spine surgery using the Medtronic Stealth AXiS™ surgical system, a next-generation platform that combines surgical planning, navigation, and robotics into a single integrated system. The milestone procedure was completed by Dr. Lloyd Zucker, Chief of Neurosurgery at Delray Medical Center.
Cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for spine procedures, the Stealth AXiS™ system is designed for use across hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers and supports a wide range of surgeon preferences and clinical complexity.
A key innovation of the system is LiveAlign™ segmental tracking, which introduces a first-of-its-kind capability in spine surgery, giving you real-time visibility into vertebral motion so you can see corrections as you make them and achieve adjustment or alignment targets with precision.
This helps to reduce workflow disruption and support more consistent execution of patient-specific surgical plans.
The Stealth AXiS™ system is part of Medtronic’s AiBLE™ smart ecosystem, which connects planning, navigation, and execution to support a more seamless flow of information before, during, and after spine surgery.
The Stealth AXiS™ Surgical System is intended for precise positioning of surgical instruments and as an aid for precisely locating anatomical structure s in open, minimally invasive, and percutaneous procedures. The Stealth AXiS™ Surgical System is indicated for medical conditions in which the use of stereotactic surgery may be appropriate, and where reference to a rigid anatomical structure, such as the vertebra, can be identified relative to a CT or MR based model, fluoroscopy images, or digitized landmarks of the anatomy.
The Stealth AXiS™ Surgical System is indicated for precise robotic positioning of surgical instruments or implants during orthopedic or neurosurgery. It may be used in open, minimally invasive, and percutaneous procedures.
