The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance has honored Jeff Boyd, Ph.D., director of translational research and genomic medicine for Miami Cancer Institute, as the winner of its 2016 Rosalind Franklin Excellence in Ovarian Cancer Research Award.
Boyd is a renowned expert in cancer research and genetic testing. One of his key areas of research and expertise is genomic medicine, which uses DNA from a patient’s tumor to identify gene mutations and help doctors determine how to best treat that patient’s cancer.
Dr. Boyd is also chair of the Department of Human and Molecular Genetics and professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Florida International University.
