St. Mary’s Medical Center and the Palm Beach Children’s Hospital are pleased to recognize Dr. Richard Kaplan, oral and maxillofacial surgeon and chairman of the department of surgery, as the 2016 Chief of Staff Award recipient. Presented by Dr. Thomas Saylor, chief of staff, Dr. Kaplan was honored for his outstanding leadership and significant contributions to the hospitals, patients and medical staff.
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Kaplan’s work involves restoring the facial features of trauma survivors saved by St. Mary’s Level I Trauma Center. He has also served as the chairman of the hospital’s surgical department for the past five years and was previously the chairman of the Surgical Peer Review Committee.
