Richard Chazal, M.D., FACC, cardiologist with Lee Physician Group, has been named a recipient of the Master of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Award in honor of his contributions to the cardiovascular profession.
The Master of the ACC Award recognizes and honors Fellows of the ACC who have consistently contributed to the goals and programs of the College and who have provided leadership in important College activities. To earn this distinction, one must have been a member of the College for at least 15 years and must have served with distinction and provided leadership on various College programs and committees. Dr. Chazal has served as councilor, treasurer and president of the Florida Chapter of the ACC. He also has served as president and governor for the Florida Chapter; and he was elected chair of the ACC Board of Governors. Nationally, Dr. Chazal is currently serving as president of the ACC Board of Trustees, and has been a member and/or chair of more than 50 committees and workgroups.
