After more than a year of planning and construction, the ER at Westlake, located at 16750 Persimmon Blvd. in Westlake, FL, will officially open for patients ON April 9 at 8 am.  The new ER is the first emergency healthcare services available in the community of Westlake.

“With the opening of the ER at Westlake, there will no longer be a need for residents of Westlake and surrounding communities to travel long distances for healthcare services,” said Pam Tahan, CEO, Wellington Regional Medical Center.  “In an emergency situation, time can be critical for a positive outcome and the ER at Westlake has significantly reduced the time to be seen by a qualified emergency room physician because of its closeness.”

The more than 10,000-square-foot facility, located at the intersection of Seminole Pratt Whitney Road and Persimmon Boulevard, includes eight exam rooms, one triage room, three rapid medical exam bays, imaging capability and onsite lab services.  The ER at Westlake will be staffed by experienced emergency medicine physicians and is the first Wellington Regional Medical Center ER located off the main hospital campus.  The ER will be capable of treating both major and minor medical conditions from cuts and bruises to broken bones, heart attacks and stroke.
