Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing recently held a special donor appreciation event in the College’s atrium at FAU’s Boca Raton campus.

“This has been a landmark year for the College of Nursing, and it was made possible by our many generous supporters who give their time, talent and treasure to ensure our success today and in the future,” said Marlaine Smith, Ph.D., dean of the College.

In 2014, the College of Nursing received a number of gifts from community members and groups to support the education, research and community practice taking place through the College. Additionally, last year, FAU became the first university in Florida’s State University System to admit freshmen directly into nursing. Subsequently, the College of Nursing initiated its Lamplighter scholarship program, awarding half of the College’s freshman class with $500 scholarships to defray the expenses of their nursing education.
