Fernando G. Mendoza, M.D., FAAP, has been named medical director of Baptist Children’s Hospital Emergency Center. Dr. Mendoza is the managing member of PedEM.Dr. Mendoza has been an attending physician at Baptist Children’s Hospital since 2006, and also serves as the associate medical director of pediatric emergency services at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. He maintains an academic appointment through the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine.
Dr. Mendoza is Board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine, completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and his fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston University School of Medicine/Boston Medical Center.
