The College of Nursing & Health Sciences (CNHS) at Florida International University (FIU) has received $310,000 in federal support to continue work on their student-led, minority-focused HIV/AIDS prevention programs on campus.
Three separate grants of $50,000, $30,000 and $240,000 will be used, respectively, to renew the SENORITAS (Student Education Needed in Order to Reduce Infection and Transmission ofAIDS/HIV and STIs) and SALSAH (Student-led Activities for Latinos about Substance abuse,AIDS/HIV and Hepatitis) programs, and launch the HIV Prevention Education Programs (HIV-PEP)initiative.
