Richard J. Stephenson, founder and chairman of Boca Raton-based Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) was honored by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc., a nonprofit educational organization that honors the achievements of outstanding individuals and encourages youth to pursue their dreams through higher education. Selected for membership in the 2017 Class, Stephenson is widely recognized for his philanthropic efforts, global business leadership, and establishment of a new standard in personalized cancer care. For the last 70 years, the Horatio Alger Award has been annually bestowed upon admirable leaders who have succeeded despite facing adversity, and who are committed to higher education and charitable efforts in their local communities.
