April 29, 2019 – The Treasure Coast Photography Center awarded New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee $5,167 as the charity beneficiary of the 2019 From the Heart Juried Photo Exhibition.
 
The sixth annual photo exhibit opened at the Port St. Lucie Civic Center with a reception on April 5, at which time the winning photographs were announced and a check was presented to New Horizons. The photographs remained on display for three weeks throughout the month of April.

“The photo club has been a generous supporter of New Horizons for several years by providing volunteer photographers at many of our nonprofit agency’s events,” said George Shopland, New Horizons CEO.
 
For the past three years, the Treasure Coast Photography Center has taken photos at Breakfast with Santa, even purchasing two printers in order to give children photos with Santa to take home for gifts or put in scrapbooks, whereby creating wholesome memories to last a lifetime.
 
 
In addition, the club has supported New Horizon’s fashion show for the past couple by capturing the artistry of the couture designs and beauty of the models for social media and print publications. 
 
“We’ve had a lot of fun partnering with this worthwhile organization,” said John Furlong, From the Heart Committee Chair. 
 
Established in 1958, New Horizons is the most comprehensive mental health and addiction recovery agency in the region, with nine offices across Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, New Horizons serves 14,000 children and adults annually, regardless of their ability to pay.
