L to R Cheryl Wild, Chief Nursing Officer, Melissa Leamon, Administrative Director of Clinical Operations, Randi Smith, RN Intensive Care Unit,  Savana Graham, Intensive Care Unit Director

Congratulations to this quarter’s DAISY Award recipient, Randi Smith. Smith is a nurse in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, and she is loved by patients and staff alike. She is a true asset to the nursing profession and displays extraordinary compassion and skilled clinical care in every situation, regardless of circumstances. Randi undoubtedly makes a difference in her patients’ lives and is truly deserving of this award. In the letter that was written for her nomination, this is what one nurse said of Randi, "Maya Angelou said, “People will forget what you said, they will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel!” “Randi is still able to demonstrate an amazing level of compassion for the patients she cares for.  She sees patients as someone’s son and recognizes the caregiver as a mother.”  The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses is a national program that recognizes the outstanding deeds nurses perform every day and the excellent care they provide to patients. The nominations are made by patients, family members and colleagues.
