Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, LLC. was founded in March of 2016 with a mission to help patients “reduce pain, improve mobility, restore function and regain a better quality of life.” Located at 7971 Riviera Blvd., Suite 107 in Miramar, the practice specializes in geriatric rehabilitation and senior wellness, pain management, joint replacement, balance and stability, gait training, neurological therapy, orthopedic therapy, pediatric therapy, and wellness education.

“Physical therapy is to be used as a proactive measure to prevent surgical intervention,” said Co-Owner Yonel Bredy. While physical therapy is also provided post injury or following surgery, it is best to consult a physical therapist when you initially experience acute pain.”

The Bredys have a combined 30 years of experience in the medical field and have worked in public health institutions, as well private practice. Yonel has a Master of Science in Physical Therapy, is a Board Certified Physical Therapist and an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Vania, currently a Doctoral Candidate in Health Science at Nova Southeastern University, also has a Master of Science in Health Care Administration, is a Registered Health Information Administrator and an active member of the American Health Information Management Association. While both husband and wife have enjoyed successful careers in the capacity of contractor and health care management, a desire to have a more direct impact on improving the health of their community members was the push towards the creation of Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab.

“Diversifying our lives and wanting a stronger foundation for our young children is our drive behind wanting to start a family business,” said Co-Owner Vania Bredy. “Merging our backgrounds to create this business has become a dream come true for both of us. We also want to set the stage to give back to the community that gave so much to us. It is with this business, we hope to contribute towards ensuring that health and wellness is a priority for all.”

As important as it is for patients of the Bredy practice to make health and wellness a priority for patients, it is equally important to the couple that they also provide education and informed guidance to patients, along with a stellar standard of care. Whether a primary or supplementary source of care, therapy sessions are aimed to leave the patient not only feeling better physically, but also more informed about the scope and benefits of physical therapy.

“The role of the physical therapist is to enhance outcomes, whether you use another form of medical intervention or not,” said Yonel. “At Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, we thrive on ensuring that our patients experience a one-on-one, uniquely-crafted treatment plan, specific to their rehabilitative needs.”

Bredy Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab treat patients at their Miramar office, as well as provide in- home health services. The practice has also become heavily involved in providing free wellness services to members of the community.

“We offer free exercise classes at the Robert Sharp Towers in Miami Gardens twice a month,” said Vania. “In addition to this, we are partnered with the YMCA to facilitate having a therapist onsite for those YMCA members. We also attend health fairs and 5K events and offer free back screenings/assessments to those who attend these events.”
