ENGLEWOOD, FL – October 6, 2022 – HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, 700 Medical Blvd. in Englewood, has re-opened today following the restoration of full power and water service to the 100-bed acute care hospital.

“We understand this has been a difficult and trying time for everyone, particularly those with loved ones who are hospitalized,” said Steve Young, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Englewood Hospital. “Access to healthcare in our community is extremely important and we have worked diligently to assess and repair the minor damage to our facility caused by Hurricane Ian.”

The hospital is grateful for the courageous frontline caregivers and support teams who have worked tirelessly to respond to Hurricane Ian. In the days immediately following the storm, caregivers of Englewood Hospital were provided access to free fuel, laundry services and shower trucks as well as a mini-mart stocked with essentials.

In addition, HCA Healthcare employees are eligible for financial aid and resources from the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund. Established in 2005 as an employee-run, employee-supported 501(c)(3) charity, the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund provides financial aid and resources to employees after an extended illness, injury, disaster or other special situations. In 2021, the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund provided $10.7 million in grants that helped more than 4,800 families.
