Health 2.0, the world’s largest convening organization for healthcare technology entrepreneurs, has established a new chapter in Miami. The local chapter will fuel innovative thinking and thoughtful discussion regarding the advancement and development of healthcare technology in the city.

“We are excited to be champions of Health 2.0’s global mission here in Miami,” explained Adam Haskew, Co-Chairman of the Miami Chapter of Health 2.0. “Our organization prides itself on fostering the innovative spirit of entrepreneurs committed to the healthcare space, and we believe this city has a keen interest in the advancement of technology as a solution to the healthcare problems of today and tomorrow.”

Health 2.0 boasts more than 70 chapters worldwide, hosts 6 annual conferences across the globe, with past locations including London and Dubai, and encourages and challenges members through a series of code-a-thons and developer challenges.

Locally, the Miami chapter will operate as a convening body for innovators, entrepreneurs, and those interested in discussing the current and future states of healthcare technology with a regional focus on South Florida. Health 2.0 Miami’s goal is to provide a forum for meaningful discussion centered on improving technology for the betterment of personal and societal health. The chapter will host regular meetings, each centered on a specific topic related to healthcare technology, in pursuit of this mission.

"Heath 2.0 will have an extremely positive influence in Miami," explained Richard Schuchts, Partner with Vertical Integration, Inc. "Our city boasts numerous sources of innovative energy in the healthcare technology space, such as ProjectLift, and Health 2.0 will serve as a sounding board for these entrepreneurial minds."

The first Health 2.0 event will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, from 6 – 9 p.m. at the Miami Innovation Center inside the UM Life Science and Technology Park. This event will serve as a further introduction to Health 2.0 on global and local levels, as well as offer a closer look at innovation in the healthcare space. Guest speakers will include Barbara Perez Deppman FACHE, Vice President of Business Development for itMD – a cloud-based services provider for the healthcare industry – and founders of two additional Miami-based healthcare technology companies.
