Palm Court Plaza and Professional Center, a Health Care REIT property located on the campus of Delray Medical Center in Delray Beach, recently underwent a $1.5 million dollar major renovation project. The medical office complex, which is leased and managed by Health Care REIT’s Management Services Group (MSG), consists of a five-story, 47,828 square foot tower and a 137,760 square foot plaza. The goal of the renovation was to improve access to tenant suites and enhance the overall appearance of the property.

To achieve their goal MSG enlisted the help of Glidden Architects, a full service architecture and design firm, to design property upgrades that made accessing and navigating the plaza easier and more convenient for their tenants and patients. To do this the former design was replaced with a color coding system that created three different colored zones to help direct visitors to their destination. The color was introduced through new awnings, signage, and color-coded pavers. New, modern directories were also installed to make finding suites simpler and more intuitive.

Areas of renovation included replacement of concrete flooring with pavers, surface painting, replacement of existing signage, installation of new 3-D directories, updated landscaping, installation of new seating areas, installation of pole lights and additional overhead lighting and updated common areas. Overall the project took 5 months for completion, 16,000 man hours invested, 40,000 new pavers installed and cost $1.5 million dollars.
