Informed Families/The Florida Family Partnership received a one-year $27,000 grant from Health Foundation of South Florida for Project New Connections, an effort to increase organizational efficiency by upgrading its existing telephone and information technology systems.
With the grant, Informed Families staff will be able to work more efficiently due to increased data transmittal rate, fewer service interruptions and the ability to directly log in to the server from remote locations through terminal services. Informed Families’ website, designed to quickly disseminate valuable prevention information and promote community involvement, will also be more efficient as a result of improved internet service and increased server capacity. More telephone lines will be available for incoming and outgoing calls and staff computers will be upgraded through the installation of new operating software.
