St. Mary’s Medical Center Physical Therapist Inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame

 

St. Mary’s Medical Center announced that Kerry Timmins, a physical therapist, has been inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame, Tenet Healthcare Corporation’s highest honor for employees.

 

Timmins is known as the ultimate advocate for her pediatric patients. Recently, she directly contacted a helmet manufacturer on behalf of a patient with torticollis who needed a child-size helmet. She was able to convince the manufacturer to design a prototype for her patient, and because of her work, the company is now working with insurance companies to provide the helmet to patients everywhere, beyond St. Mary’s. Timmins is currently working on an educational torticollis brochure for patients and coordinating a screening program for the condition.

 

Timmins often helps patients understand the complex process of billing and scheduling medical appointments and procedures, especially those who come from difficult backgrounds and lack the means to navigate the process without her help. Among colleagues, she is known for her positivity and professionalism, and several adult therapists have requested to be trained in pediatrics just to work with Kerry. She is always willing to train other therapists and share valuable advice.
