February 14, 2023 – Healthcare Network, a nonprofit organization working to ensure primary medical care is accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of income or insurance status, receives a grant from Arthrex to support the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®. The grant from Arthrex allows the Care Mobile to continue providing dental services such as screenings, fluoride treatments, referrals and school physicals.
In operation for nine years, the Care Mobile visits Title I schools, select after-school programs, family-oriented festivals and community health fairs, delivering services to children and families in vulnerable communities. As the most common chronic disease in children, dental cavities can affect children’s ability to eat or focus, negatively impacting school performance, behavior and overall health.
“There are many families and children in Collier County that suffer from lack of access to medical and dental care. This barrier to care keeps children from visiting the dentist to treat cavities and oral diseases. With the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, the Healthcare Network dental team is able to bring dental services directly to these underserved communities,” says Patty Inks, director of dental operations for Healthcare Network. “This grant from Arthrex will help continue the work we do, creating a healthier future for children in our community.”
