October 25, 2021 – Healthcare Network, a nonprofit working to ensure primary care is accessible to everyone in the community, has launched a new volunteer program to further patient interactions and enhance the overall patient experience.

Led by volunteer manager, Antonello Castaldi, the new program provides volunteers an opportunity to play an active part in helping better the health of people in the community through volunteer positions in the organization’s medical practices and directly in the community at outreach events.

As the only Federally Qualified Health Center in Collier County, Healthcare Network cares for approximately 50,000 people annually, including nearly half of the children in the community. Through its comprehensive approach, the health center provides primary care services such as internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology as well as dental care, pharmacy and integrated behavioral health for children, adults and seniors.

Volunteers will get to build skills, connect with like-minded and passionate individuals and gain valuable knowledge and a deeper understanding of the health inequities that affect a large portion of residents in Collier County.
“We are thrilled to launch a new volunteer program at Healthcare Network. This program has been something we’ve been wanting to develop for a long time and it’s exciting to see it finally come to fruition,” said Antonello Castaldi, volunteer manager for Healthcare Network. “We expect our volunteers to make a positive impact on patient experience, and at the same time we want them to enjoy a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in our community.”

On-site and off-site opportunities are available. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Community members interested in volunteering with Healthcare Network are encouraged to fill out an application at HealthcareSWFL.org/Volunteers.
