Holy Cross Health general surgeon Michael Perez, M.D., has completed a milestone 1,000 laparoscopic surgeries using the da Vinci Xi™ Surgical System.
By enabling efficient access throughout the abdomen or chest, the da Vinci Xi System expands upon core da Vinci System features, including wristed instruments, 3D-HD visualization, intuitive motion and an ergonomic design. As with all da Vinci models, the surgeon completely controls the robotic arms, allowing for smaller, more precise placement of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body. The magnification capabilities allow surgeons to get a clear and enlarged view of the area being operated on.
Benefits of this minimally invasive technology may include significantly less pain, less blood loss, fewer complications, less scarring, a shorter hospital stay and a faster return to normal daily activities for the patient.
