Each year, Holy Cross Hospital recognizes an Associate who demonstrates leadership, serves as an inspiration to others, embraces new responsibilities and offers innovative and thoughtful insights. For 2018, the Director of the Year is Chrissy Marrero, RN, Holy Cross Hospital’s Executive Director of Surgical Services.

Taylor, M.D. “A passionate, dedicated Associate, Chrissy is a leader who recognizes and values the individually of each and every Associate, applauding them for their strengths and helping them develop. Recognized as an out-of-the-box thinker who is receptive to change and understands the strategic direction of the organization, aligning programs and actions to meet those goals, Marrero is known to treat everyone like family, always lending an ear and a hand. Her constant pursuit of excellence and commitment to the Holy Cross mission, Associates and patients is evidenced by her time and service with the non-profit hospital.
Marrero began her career at Holy Cross in 1993 as an advanced clinical nurse in the operating room. Over the years she has served as OR coordinator, operations coordinator, nurse manager, director of outpatient surgery, director of clinical education, and, most recently, executive director of the OR.
