Among 643 volunteers who collectively donated more than 122,000 hours of service to Holy Cross Hospital in 2013, Deerfield Beach resident James Dolan was honored as the non-profit hospital’s 2013-2014 Volunteer of the Year.Dolan was chosen among 12 Volunteer of the Month honorees recognized for their achievements, outstanding contributions, dedication and innovation, and excellence in guest relations. He volunteers in the hospital’s post-anesthesia care unit in the surgery department, where he has become a valuable part of the recovery room team by assisting staff with transporting patients back to their rooms after surgery. Additionally, he volunteers in the hospital’s spiritual care department and visits patients to inform them about spiritual services offered.
