Sreenivas Nara, M.D., Geriatric specialist, recently accepted the position of Senior Medical Director of HospiceCare of SE Florida. Formerly of India, Dr. Nara attended J.J.M Medical College in Davangere, Karnataka, India before performing his residency in Internal Medicine at Canton Affiliated Hospitals located in Canton, OH. Upon finishing his residency Dr. Nara accepted a fellowship at the University of South-Florida in Tampa, concentrating in geriatric and palliative care. Following the conclusion of the fellowship Dr. Nara came to South-Florida to become Team Physician for Catholic Hospice in Miami. In 2004, Dr. Nara joined HospiceCare of SE Floridas team as Medical Director for Bougainvilla, HospiceCares eight bed hospice residence. Less than a year later, Dr. Nara added Medical Director for the North Team in Broward County to his duties and responsibilities. It was only natural that HospiceCare would offer Dr. Nara the Senior Medical Director position.
Dr. Nara is a kind and compassionate physician whose dedication is an asset to not only the patients and families but to the HospiceCare staff. His knowledge and ability to teach is a valuable resource that is available to the community, to physicians, to families and staff. Dr. Nara has incredibly vast experience with pain and symptom management and he keeps himself current with the numerous changes in geriatric medicine.
