Interventional spine and pain specialist William Porter McRoberts, M.D., has returned to Holy Cross Medical Group.

From 2006-2017, Dr. McRoberts was the medical director of interventional spine, pain and neurosurgery at Holy Cross Health and sat on the ministry’s institutional review board from 2008-2011. Before rejoining Holy Cross Health, he conducted research and was on staff at private practices in the Fort Lauderdale area. Dr. McRoberts has been a primary investigator and research scientist on dozens of FDA primary assessment research trials within the interventional spine, pain and neuromodulation space and has authored research articles and book chapters generating over 2,000 scientific citations.  He has traveled the world to give lectures and presentations on innovative treatments for pain and spine disorders.

Upon graduating from the University of Kentucky School of Medicine in Lexington, KY, the Seattle native moved back to the West Coast for an internal medicine internship, followed by a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA, where he served as chief resident. He was then chief fellow of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education Interventional Spine and Pain Medicine Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
