Jupiter Medical Center’s Board of Trustees and Don McKenna, President and CEO, have determined that their visions for Jupiter Medical Center are no longer aligned. Today, Don McKenna separated from Jupiter Medical Center to pursue other opportunities. Joanne Miller, DNP, RN-C, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Experience Officer, and Steve Seeley, Chief Operating Officer, will act as interim co-CEOs.

Jupiter Medical Center’s Board of Directors is committed to continuing to deliver world-class, comprehensive health care to the region, and will immediately begin a new search for a dynamic and innovative CEO to further the Board’s vision.

Jupiter Medical Center’s dedicated Board of Directors and Senior Leadership team is strongly committed to quality, safety and patient experience. Jupiter Medical Center recently received a five-star rating for quality of care – the highest ranking awarded by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Jupiter Medical Center is the first and only hospital in Palm Beach, Martin, Miami-Dade, Broward, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive the ranking, which places the hospital at the top in South Florida and in the top 10 percent nationally.
Jupiter Medical Center is undergoing an exciting time of growth and innovation. In 2015, Jupiter Medical Center’s Board of Directors created an ambitious strategic plan to meet the long-term healthcare needs of our patients. Jupiter Medical Center has already raised more than $165 million toward a $300 million campaign to support the strategy of developing world-class, clinical programs – Centers of Excellence.

In January 2019, Jupiter Medical Center was designated by the State of Florida as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Later this year, Jupiter Medical Center will become a Level II Cardiac Care Center, allowing physicians to perform more advanced procedures on patients with serious cardiac issues such as cardiac bypass, and valve replacement and repairs. Next month, Jupiter Medical Center will open the Mastroianni Pediatric Emergency Department in partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Also, opening in late 2019, the Anderson Family Cancer Institute will provide convenient access to multidisciplinary, evidence-based, comprehensive cancer care often found in the nation’s most prestigious healthcare institutions.
