Jupiter Medical Center Celebrates Start of ER Expansion Construction with Groundbreaking Ceremony

Jupiter Medical Center staff, physicians and auxilians recently helped celebrate the start of construction for the $8 million expansion of the Emergency Department (ED).

“The new, larger emergency room will offer hospital staff the resources they need to more effectively treat the sick and injured and the enhancement of services and our continued growth will all be beneficial to our patients,” said CEO R. Michael Barry.

Completion of the 17-month, multi-phase expansion project is anticipated for March, 2008. The project, located on the northwest corner of Jupiter’s 30-acre campus, will add 7,800 square feet of space to the existing 9,000 the square-foot facility. Additionally, the project plans include a 6,640-square-foot second floor addition to be used for the future expansion of inpatient beds.
