January 8, 2026 – Lee Health is proud to host the 4th Annual Pedal for a Purpose, an inspiring community fundraiser taking place January 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Lee Health Coconut Point located at 23450 Via Coconut Point, Estero, FL 33928. The event supports the Lee Health Cancer Institute and raises critical funds to expand access to vital programs and services for patients and families facing cancer in Southwest Florida.
Pedal for a Purpose is a four-hour pedal-a-thon where teams of riders take turns on stationary bikes to log miles and collectively drive fundraising efforts. The event fosters camaraderie, community engagement, and wellness while channeling collective energy toward a powerful cause: improving care, support, and hope for local cancer patients and their loved ones.
“Pedal for a Purpose brings our community together around movement, connection and compassion. It’s about showing up for our neighbors when they need us most,” said Carrie Bloemers, System Director of Wellness at Lee Health. “Every mile pedaled and every dollar raised directly supports cancer patients and families in our community, helping ensure they have access to the care, resources, and support they need throughout their journey.”
Suncoast Credit Union is the presenting sponsor for the 2026 event, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to community health and well-being. Their support enables Lee Health to amplify the impact of this signature fundraiser.
“Suncoast Credit Union is honored to serve as the presenting sponsor of the 2026 Pedal for a Purpose event,” said Bob Hyde, VP of Community Impact at Suncoast Credit Union. “We are proud to partner with Lee Health in supporting our neighbors and raising funds that directly benefit vital cancer care services in our community. Together, we are pedaling toward better health and brighter futures for families facing this challenge.”
Proceeds help fund essential services including free cancer support programs, nurse navigation and patient advocacy, access to prosthetics and wellness resources, and investment in clinical research and advanced technology—all critical for enhancing the health and well-being of individuals confronting cancer.
