 Mario Murgado, Principle, President and Chief Executive Officer of Brickell Motors has been elected chair of the board of Miami Children’s Health System, the parent organization of Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. 

As chairman, Mr. Murgado will provide fiscal and operational leadership to the health system, which includes the 289-bed nonprofit pediatric hospital, a growing network of nonprofit outpatient centers extending from northern Palm Beach County to southern Miami-Dade County, Pediatric Specialists of America, the system’s employed physician organization; a management services organization and ambulatory surgery center, as well as a line of children’s wellness and safety products.
 
Mr. Murgado has provided extensive and longstanding leadership to both the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and Miami Children’s Health Foundation boards. He first joined the foundation board in 2005, followed by the hospital board in 2008, serving both continuously since the original appointments. Leadership roles in which he has served include: Vice Chair, Chairman of the Finance Committee, and Chairman of the Hospitality and Marketing Committee for the hospital; and Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair for the foundation.
 
“Over the years, our health system has benefited enormously from Mario’s leadership, commitment and focus. We look forward to continued growth and success as he assumes the chairmanship of our health system board,” said Dr. Narendra Kini, CEO of Miami Children’s Health System.
 
Mr. Murgado said, “There is nothing greater or more important in this world than the health and wellbeing of our children. Brickell Motors, which will soon celebrate its 16th year of operations, includes the following dealerships located on SW 8th Street: Buick, GMC, Honda, Mazda and Brickell Luxury Motors. It also includes Ocean Cadillac in the city of Bay Harbor Island, and the Audi and Infiniti showrooms in Stuart, Florida.”
