Memorial Hospital Miramar has named Anel Alvarado, M.D., as the new Chief of Surgery. Dr. Alvarado, a native of Panama, is a general surgeon, board certified by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American Board of Surgery. In 1987, he graduated from the University of Autonomy of Central America in San Jose, Costa Rica. For his residency, he headed to Miami Beach’s Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he worked from June 1992 to July 1997, earning the status of Chief Resident in General Surgery from July 1997 to June 1998.
