They say the smallest good deed is better than the grandest intention. That holds true for Benji Roberts, who was rewarded in a small way for setting a big example. Rodney Miller, Administrator of Memorial Regional Hospital, recently presented the 10-year old boy with a Nintendo Wii in recognition of his donation in support of the American Heart Association. Benji is the son of hospital employee Nancy Roberts, who survived a heart attack three years ago at the age of 42. When she was fundraising for the Annual Heart Walk, he insisted he wanted to contribute the $100 he had been saving to buy a Nintendo Wii. His Mom tried to persuade him to donate less, to which he answered, “I would rather save someones life than get a Wii.” In addition to the game money, Benji raised additional funds by selling American Heart Association bracelets and pins to classmates at Little Flower Catholic School in Hollywood.
