Miami Dade College (MDC) and Jackson Health System are uniting to open Health Science Charter High School, designed to prepare students for careers in health care and address South Florida’s growing workforce needs.
The school represents a first-of-its-kind collaboration between MDC and Jackson Health System focused on developing the next generation of health care professionals while expanding educational and career opportunities for Miami-Dade County students.
Set to open in August 2027 in Miami’s Health District, the Health Science Charter High School will create an innovative educational pathway for students interested in pursuing careers in nursing, allied health, health care administration and other high-demand medical fields. Through early exposure to health care education, hands-on learning opportunities and access to college-level coursework, students will gain the academic foundation and practical experience needed to thrive in the health care industry.
