November 17 2020 – It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Dr. Román Peña passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020. Dr. Peña, a pediatric intensivist and hospitalist, was a valued member of the Kidz Medical Services staff since 2008. Most recently, he was an attending at Lakeside Medical Center; he previously had worked at other Palm Beach County hospitals including St. Mary’s Medical Center and Bethesda Hospital East. 
“He was not only a colleague but a good friend, and he was a mentor to many in our group. He will be missed, but never forgotten,” said Jorge E. Perez, M.D., co-founder of Kidz Medical.
“Dr. Pena was instrumental in advancing pediatric care for the children of Palm Beach County. It has been my honor to be his friend and colleague,” said Albert Tano, M.D., co-founder of Kidz Medical. “His untimely passing is a deep loss for our community.”
