The premise that the health care industry affects us all – whether we give care, get care, or pay for care – is the focus of a three-day conference in October sponsored by the Palm Beach County Medical Society. The Summit will feature national thought leaders discussing relevant issues with Palm Beach County leaders including physicians, health policy experts, hospital administrators, researchers, business executives and community representatives.
“The Future of Medicine Summit V: Shaping Our Future – Together” will be held October 27-29 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach. Like previous summits sponsored by the Medical Society, it will bring together some of the leading minds in medicine locally, statewide and nationally. Scripps Florida will co-sponsor the conference. Sponsorships and exhibit space are available.
Among those scheduled to speak are T.R. Reid, reporter and author of The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care. He traveled to other industrialized democracies around the world – France, Britain, Germany, Japan, and beyond – to provide a revelatory tour of successful, affordable universal care systems. The concepts he brings to light in this readable and logical approach to solving our health care system woes will fascinate anyone interested in health care reform.
