Nancy Lekanides, RN, brings 42 years of nursing experience to her position as a nurse specialist, responsible for cardiovascular patients who need diagnostic and interventional services.

Since moving to Florida in 1999, Lekanides has spent her career at Broward Health, first in the emergency department, then in the ICU during COVID and now in the cardiac lab. She is focused on providing exceptional care to patients to ensure they have safe and positive experiences and outcomes.

“I want to make our patients feel like they are family while they are with us,” Lekanides said. “Each person that I meet fills some small part of me that I never knew was missing, and that is a wonderful feeling. To see the smiles on the faces of patients and their family members when we save them is worth more than anything I can buy.”

Lekanides earned her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Orange County Community College, Middletown, New York.
