Avalon Grantham has been a nurse in 3 Tower, an inpatient acute cancer unit at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital for over five years. Avalon came as a daisy awarded, BSN, oncology- certified registered nurse. She has made an enormous impact on the unit by championing shared governance as our unit-based council co-chair, helping to precept a large majority of the new nurses in the department. Avalon has also taken time to lead the team by serving as a relief charge on both days and nights when needed. She is a true patients-first nurse and is often recognized for giving excellent care and amazing support to her colleagues. Avalon helped to begin the bell ringing process for our cancer patients at the end of their treatment, which has brought joy to patients after a difficult journey through chemotherapy treatment. She has shown the ability to navigate this changing world of healthcare. Avalon continues to positively impact others as she pursues her advanced degree in nursing.
