Dr. Robert J. Jacobson has been appointed the Medical Director for the Palm Beach Cancer Institute Foundation (PBCRF) in West Palm Beach, FL. He is recognized as one of the area’s leading hematologist/oncologists, is board certified in hematology and hematopathology and practices at the Palm Beach Cancer Institute in West Palm Beach.

Dr. Jacobson also serves as the clinical research director and director of the bone marrow/stem cell transplant program at PBCI. His clinical interests include the use of high-dose chemotherapy and stem cell support for treating malignancies, determining the pathogenesis and clonality of hematopoietic malignancies and the diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer and blood diseases. He is a consulting professor at Duke University Medical Center and a member of several leading professional organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology and the local chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America.

In addition, Dr. Jacobson is a member of the board of directors of Hospice of Palm Beach County. He is also a Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
