The North Broward Hospital District Board of Directors has appointed Paul Echelard as Broward Health’s senior vice president/chief operating officer.For the past two years Echelard has been a consultant providing nation-wide health care organizations with in-depth analysis of clinical service lines, business development strategies, regulatory reviews and more. For over 20 years, Echelard served as the CEO for three different hospitals in South Florida.
At Kindred Hospital Palm Beach in West Palm Beach, he helped the hospital achieve JCAHO Accreditation and profitable status within nine months of opening. Most of his career was spent with Tenet Hospital Systems. As the CEO of Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, he led the 333-bed hospital to financial and clinical turnaround. During his tenure as the CEO of Pinecrest Rehabilitation Hospital in Delray Beach, Echelard developed a small rehabilitation hospital into the market leader in the state of Florida.
