Palm Beach County Medical Society & Services presents the Starfish Gala on Saturday, November 17 at the Kravis Center, Cohen Pavilion, West Palm Beach. Reception begins at 6:30 pm, dinner and program at 7:30 pm. PBCMS will honor the outgoing president, Brandon Luskin, M.D., and welcome the incoming president, Marc Hirsh, M.D.

This year’s Starfish Gala will for the fourth year showcase the Festival of Holiday Trees & Lights — a unique and visually exciting array of nearly 40 decorated 4-foot lighted trees that are available by silent auction.

Trees are adorned in all manner of themes such as holidays, seasonal wonders, sports, pets, movies, jewelry and gems, chocolate, fashion and much, much more. The sky’s the limit on creativity and design. And the most imaginative, lavishly designed trees filled with color and texture will drive the bidding to the highest peaks — a win-win for all participants. Ultimately, the highest bid for each tree becomes a donation to the Palm Beach Medical Society Services.

Designers receive many benefits from signage, program listings, invitation to the reception prior to the Gala, and a tax-deductible donation letter, among other benefits. In addition, judges will award winners in the following categories: Whimsical Masterpiece, Holiday Traditions, Creative Genius, Made Me Smile, Most Unusual/Unique and Judges Choice.

The Gala will benefit the programs of Palm Beach County Medical Society Services including Project Access, a physician-led system of volunteer care for low-income residents; Disaster Services, such as HERC (develops health care emergency preparedness) and MRC (organizes and utilizes volunteers to respond to disasters), Medical Education supports medical students, future physicians, health care leaders as well as Care Coordination programs; and the Physician Wellness Program.
