The Physicians from the Palm Beach County Medical Society and Palm Beach County Medical Society Services are introducing a new program to help the uninsured, low-income members of our community who do not have healthcare insurance or access to treatment. This program is called Project Access.
Project Access is a program that has been implemented across many states, starting first in the Ashville, North Carolina area. The program has been successful in providing healthcare access to those who do not qualify for any other programs.

A Leadership Committee was formed by members of the Palm Beach County Medical Society physicians and staff to explore the need and application of such a program for Palm Beach County. 1 out of 5 people in Palm Beach County do not have access to any type of healthcare benefits. With this program, those individuals will have access to those services that they need. Project Access not only provides free healthcare and services to those that do not qualify for other programs, it also will help to coordinate other benefits for these citizens in user-friendly environment.
Project Access patients will receive medical care absolutely free from our local doctors who are donating their time and services. In addition, the program gives patients access to diagnostic services, medical supplies, medications and other ancillary services from our hospital members and private providers who are generously pledging their support.
This program is completely managed by the Palm Beach County Medical Society Physicians through their society. It is about physicians giving back to the community in which they live and work. Our physicians have always been at the forefront to volunteer time and services. Project Access allows them a coordinated effort to expand those services .Project Access is planning to enroll patients in fall of 2005, and will begin to refer patients to services.
