October 6, 2022– Board-certified medical oncologist Rohan Garje, M.D., joins Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, as the chief of genitourinary medical oncology. Dr. Garje specializes in treating prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular and penile cancer.

Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute, Dr. Garje was an associate professor of medicine in hematology and oncology at the University of Iowa/Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is an expert in the design of novel investigator-initiated clinical trials and participated in the VISIONclinical trial that led to the first radioligand 177Lu PSMA for the treatment of prostate cancer.
Focusing on providing precision oncology care, Dr. Garje uses targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, radioligand therapy and chemotherapy in treatment plans. “I’m passionate about providing hope and the best care possible for my cancer patients, who are going through the most vulnerable phases of their lives,” he says.
He is also the chair for the castration-resistant prostate cancer guidelines committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He leads the committee’s work in reviewing research and writing guidelines for prostate cancer treatment.
Dr. Garje earned his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in India, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Health System and a fellowship in hematology oncology at the University of Iowa.
