Dr. Syeda Hussain is double board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology, enabling her to offer patients specific expertise in managing the renal aspects of diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. She is also program director of the Internal Medicine residency program at Memorial Healthcare System.
“A good physician is a good teacher, whether that’s for the benefit of patients or the residents in our graduate medical education program,” said Dr. Hussain, whose nephrology fellowship was completed at New York-Presbyterian Queens. “I love learning and passing on knowledge that can make a difference in someone’s life.”
Dr. Hussain’s passion for primary care stems from a desire to increase access for those impacted by social determinants that affect an individual’s health. It’s why she pursued and earned a master’s degree in public health with a major in health policy administration and is now involved with policies that impact healthcare delivery and outcomes.
