Amanda “Mandy” Mitchell, R.N., BSN, CWS, brings 16 years of nursing experience to Broward Health Imperial Point’s Wound Care Center, where she has served for more than two years. Inspired by her sister who recognized her natural gift for caregiving, Mandy returned to school in her 30s while raising three children, building on her background in biology to pursue nursing and never looked back.
Specially trained to operate the center’s hyperbaric chambers, Mandy is also nearing certification in ostomy management, helping to expand access to highly specialized care in Broward County.
With a collaborative approach, Mandy educates both patients and caregivers on wound care, nutrition and small but meaningful steps that support healing at home. Known for taking time to listen and communicate clearly, she creates a supportive environment where patients feel encouraged and empowered.
“Sometimes patients feel discouraged but helping them see progress and regain confidence is incredibly rewarding,” she said.
