Robin Mason, R.N., MSN, CPPS, CPHRM, brings a unique perspective to her role as Risk Manager at Broward Health Imperial Point. A self-described “second-career nurse,” she spent more than 20 years in the corporate world before pursuing healthcare at age 40. “My aspirations of working in the medical field never faded,” she said.
While raising three children, she earned her nursing degree from Broward College and a master’s from West Coast University. She quickly rose through the ranks at Broward Health North, becoming a charge nurse and assistant nurse manager early in her career.
Since joining Broward Health Imperial Point in 2024, Mason has strengthened the culture of safety by increasing event reporting, launching a “Great Catch” recognition program and leading education initiatives focused on continuous improvement. Honorees are celebrated with personalized, baseball-themed trading cards, complete with photos and “autographs,” adding a creative and meaningful touch to recognizing staff who prevent potential safety events.
“We want to understand what happened and improve system processes,” she said.
