Laura Harris is chief nursing officer of HCA Florida University Hospital. Prior to joining University in March 2026, Harris was ACNO at HCA Florida Westside Hospital, where she provided clinical and operational leadership focused on nursing quality, patient safety, engagement and workforce retention. She also served as interim chief nursing officer at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital and HCA Florida Woodmont Hospital. In addition, she partners with Galen School of Nursing and presents quarterly to new students.

She began her career at Jackson Memorial Hospital Burn Center in Miami and advanced to director of critical care services.

Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Barry University and a Master of Science from Nova University. She has held Advanced Nurse Executive Certification since 2016 and completed HCA’s ACNO Development Program in 2021, Quality University in 2022 and the Executive Development Program in 2024.
